Two-bedroom homes sell out fast in Frankton

The complete sell-out of two-bedroom homes in a new Frankton development signals the depth of demand for attainable housing in Queenstown, with attention now turned to the last remaining three-bedroom terraces, as momentum builds in the district’s southern growth corridor.

Bayleys Residential Projects general manager, Gavin Lloyd, says that priced from $969,000, the remaining homes at Kawarau Villas, by private real estate developer Redwood Group, have struck a chord with buyers, recognising the balance of value, quality, and location in a market where build-to-affordability has traditionally been scarce.

“This milestone reflects both the appeal of the community itself and unprecedented momentum across Frankton and the surrounding suburbs.”

“Queenstown has always been a tightly held housing market, but the scale of current and projected growth is transformative. New developments that deliver design, amenity, and pricing in step with the market are being very well-received – that’s exactly what we’ve seen with Kawarau Villas.”

To mark the opening of the community’s brand-new show home, the project’s sales team - including Eloise Sadie-Morris, Blake Glover, and Matthew Lawrence - will host an on-site open day on Saturday 27th September, from 12pm – 2pm at 9 Juniper Place.

“Having a fully completed home for buyers to step inside is a significant moment,” Sadie-Morris says. “Buyers want to experience the flow of the spaces, the natural light, aspect, and the quality of finishes. It helps them to picture the exceptional lifestyle and their place here.”

The success of the Frankton project comes as Queenstown Lakes District Council progresses its ambitious Te Tapuae Southern Corridor Structure Plan, designed to shape housing and social infrastructure south of the Kawarau River over the next three decades.

Lloyd says that while the plan’s footprint sits beyond Frankton itself, the scale of investment in schools, parks, community facilities, and transport networks will reshape the way people live and move around Queenstown as a whole.

“For residents in Frankton, that means being positioned at the gateway to one of the region’s fastest-growing residential hubs, with lifestyle amenities set to expand in every direction.”

The last remaining three-bedroom homes at Kawarau Villas are modern, two-level terraced homes with open-plan layouts, private outdoor living areas, and dedicated car parking – designed to appeal to families, investors, and a growing cohort of lifestyle buyers.

Sadie-Morris says the completion of the first homes is on track for mid-October, meaning buyers could celebrate their first Christmas in their new homes this year.

“Queenstown has an international reputation as a lifestyle capital, but there’s also a strong practical undercurrent,” she says.

“The modern Queenstown buyer is seeking more than just lifestyle; they want design that’s functional, efficient, and future proof. The terraces at Kawarau Villas capture all of that, while remaining one of the most competitively priced options in the market.

“With two-bedroom configurations now fully sold out, and limited three-bedroom floorplans remaining, we expect that buyer momentum will continue to build as the show home and community continue to take shape.

“This is one of those moments where timing really counts. Frankton is on the cusp of enormous change, and these homes give buyers a stake in that future at today’s pricing.”
